God, Tumblr is really shitting the bed lately. First they force their new layout on everyone, breaking XKit in the process, and now they have overhauled the tag page into a grid view. Ugh. Fuck that crappy website. Time for an exodus? But, hm, where do we go that isn't Discord? Pillowfort? Return to the Livejournal days and use Dreamwidth? All my fandoms are dead here... do we even have any Ghost Trick related communities on this site, I'm not sure we do. Indeed, we don't. Sadness. Meh, I could make one. It's been years since I last made one. I'm surprised I even know how to make a journal post anymore. >_>

Anyway, I finally beat Final Fantasy 12. Great. Just a few bazillion more JRPGs to go! \O/ The backlog is huge...

How was it, hm, it wasn't bad. I'm not really sure how to feel. Vaan and Penelo were very tacked on, yes, I'm not sure why they were even there. Basch and Balthier are great characters, and Ashe is pretty good too. Fran's okay, but they could probably have done a little more with her, but you could probably say that about everyone, I think. I feel like the game could have done with more fleshing out. Some characters are barely there. Like Al-Cid, he got what, three scenes? Vayne wasn't terribly impressive as a villain either. Could have done more with him. The pacing was really bad at some points too.

Final Fantasy XII is a flawed game, yes, but it's still worth a play, I'd say.

Hmm, ranking the Final Fantasies I've played or seen enough of to judge (not counting spin offs), I think it would go:

FFX>FFIX>FFVI>FFVII>FFIV>FFXII>FFVIII>FFXIV

Haven't played 1-3, 5, 8 (but I'm familiar enough with 8 to judge it, I feel) and 11, which I never will. Shame a lot of the early Final Fantasy games on Steam are crappy mobile ports. 13 and 15 are in the backlog... and 15's definitely waiting until I get a more powerful computer. I've only got 16GB ram and I hear it's a very demanding game...

Oh yes, and FFXIV gets to be dead last because it's an MMORPG and fuck MMORPGs and yes that is the stupidest reason and I don't give a shit. Also, it forces you to group with people and I fucking hate that and MMORPGs are clearly not for me in the least. They implemented a trust system in the new update, but it's dungeons only and doesn't include trials so what even is the fucking point, trials are the worst fucking thing about the game and I hate them.

Damn, I'm wallowing in so much nostalgia and saudade right now. It's funny. In all the five years since my parents sold the villa in Barbados, I haven't even thought much about the place and suddenly I'm missing it so much and remembering it in painstaking detail. Haven't even been to Barbados since they sold the place. It's all gone now, the furniture and everything... so sad... for some reason, I'm just really missing it lately. Guess I'm just depressed. As usual. Same old story.

I think even playing Final Fantasy X would be painful right now. I'm still at the beginning, just reached Besaid... the new faces, man. Wakka's face is hideous. HE DOESN'T BLINK. IT'S HORRIFYING. Though I guess FFX isn't going to be terribly nostalgic anyway with new faces, Japanese voices, and the rearranged soundtrack. But it will still remind me of Barbados. I used to play it on the Playstation 2 at our villa there... man, I loved FFX. It's such a great game.

I should get on with it already, but Final Fantasy 12 takes priority at the moment. Just kinda stalled at the moment... because, hunts. Hunts as far as the eye can see. So many hunts. Sob. I just want to get back to the plot. I know hunts are optional, but the completionist in me just won't allow me to ignore them! Curses... it's a good game, yes. I'm enjoying it. Totally shipping Penelo x Larsa. Larsa is a good boy and I hope nothing terrible happens to him.

Final Fantasy 9 was also very good, yes, I played that recently.

It's a shame a lot of the Final Fantasy ports on Steam are mediocre mobile ports. I would happily own Final Fantasy 6 if it wasn't a shitty mobile port... and I have yet to ever play Final Fantasy 5 but that's also a shitty port, isn't it. Bleh. I played Final Fantasy 4 on the DS, never touched 1-3 and of course I've played 7. Remake is going to suck all the soul out of FFVII, I can feel it in my bones. Haven't played Final Fantasy 8, and don't intend to buy it. I've read an LP of it anyway.

I'd be tempted to dive into Final Fantasy 13 if some of the ports of the series didn't have issues on Steam. Sigh.

Anyway... man. I miss Barbados. Or do I just want warm and sunny weather? Wouldn't it be nice to live in a villa in a sunny and warm country. Like Spain. Parents sure seem keen on it, but if they want to do it, they better do it before Brexit happens... '.'

I seriously have a problem.

The problem is that I keep trying to quit this MMORPG and I keep going back to it. Then I lose interest all over again and waste a bunch of sub days not playing. And someone was a douchenozzle on the discord chat for the free company and nobody even called them out for being a douchenozzle. What the hell. They also moved their house to an area I can only get to by teleportation so yeah, that's great, really great. I absolutely like having to teleport and waste gil when I just want to buy some mats.

Not.

I'm just doing the same boring shit over and over in an endless repetition, and no matter how much of the challenge log I complete, the paltry amount of gil I earn gets spent on gear. It's so tiresome. It's such a chore. Ugh. I'm fucking done. I need to uninstall and delete the damn game files again. That worked so well before... damn free login suckered me back in.

I'm done. Done. No more. Stop wasting time on this stupid MMORPG. Play JRPGs or read visual novels instead, for the love of god. Please. Enough.

No more FFXIV, I swear to god. It's not even fun anymore. Why do I keep going back.

I'm kinda interested in FFXV though I know the story kinda falls apart and stuff, but man, those specs. Yeah, I'd need to get something better than a potato PC. Anyway, I've got a huge backlog of JRPGs to play so there's that, let's play all those shiny JRPGs instead, yay~

Uninstalled Final Fantasy 14 and I feel absolutely liberated. Sucks I still had over a month of time remaining, I bought a two month card because of some campaigh to get ingame stuff, but, oh well. Subscription system really sucks, can't even freeze the days when you don't want to play or anything...

I can't stand it anymore. This game is frankly nothing more than a source of stress and frustration at times. I don't care much for dungeons. I would rather lie in a bathtub full of live spiders than even do trials. But you have to do that shit to progress the main story, which sucks. Want to level up classes? Run dungeons. I hate being forced to run party content, ugh.

... Yeah. MMORPGs are so not for me after all. Now I want those six hundred hours of my life back.

I even bought and ended up using a Heavensward skip potion, good grief. I really sucked.

I'll just stick to regular JRPGs from now on.

Maybe one day, I'll actually get around to playing Final Fantasy X HD. Already got the Japanese voices set up. I read that apparently Rikku calls Yuna plain Yuna in JP, even though she calls her Yunie in dub. Huh, weird. I could have understood if it was something like Yuna-chan, but it's not even that? I don't get it.

There's also X-2, but, meh, X-2 is garbage. Not like I could buy X separately anyway. It was still pretty cheap so no big deal really.

Is it just me or does Final Fantasy X have the power to read your mind?

I was running around training inside Sin and I swear every time I thought about Malboros, one of them would pop up. >_>

Eh, regular Malboros aren't so bad. It's the Greater Malboros inside Omega Ruins that are seriously evil. They seem to enjoy ambushing and using Bad Breath, the jerks.

And it happened with a Tonberry as well. Seriously. I thought about Tonberries and one appeared. I'm not afraid of Tonberries though. Yuna can kill them in one hit. Yuna is so awesome.

I'm trying to raise Auron through the sphere grid... he is actually pathetically weak, which is bad seeing as I can't take advantage of his weapon's Break Damage Limit just yet. He's nowhere near the limit. >.>

Beat the game again last night. Beating the game is fun~

Whee, I'm leaving tomorrow and arriving in Barbados on Wednesday. I can't wait to experience the joys of warm weather. Oh yeah, and playing FFX. Except making Yuna an insane killing machine has kind of left me without much to do and I don't feel like collecting the crests. x_x Or was it sigils? Whichever ones are a frigging pain in the ass to obtain anyway. So, basically, all I can do is move around the characters' sphere grids even more and beat the game over and over.

Yuna makes Braska's Final Aeon look about as tough as a newborn baby. Pfft.

FFX is such a fun game really and has a nice story. The cast... is quite mixed.

Tidus is a whinging crybaby at first (though, yeah, the crybaby thing was his personality kinda) and his voice gets on my nerves. x_x He looks kinda like Meg Ryan when she had the short, blonde hair XD It's funny. I even wrote a fic about Tidus being Meg Ryan. XD

Yuna... I typed Yuan at first. o_0 Anyway, Yuna is awesome because she can go from a weak attacker to an insane killing machine. Then again, that's probably true for the whole cast what with the sphere grid. I don't like how in FFX-2 Yuna became a hooker. D= At least she looks like one with those stupid clothes. And WTF is up with that damn plait at the back of her head?

FFX-2 sucked hairy monkey balls. D=

I like Rikku, in FFX anyway. She was spunky and cool. But in FFX-2... wow. She looks even more like a hooker than Yuna does. Would it kill her to actually try wearing some clothes? I bet when she's not hanging out with the Gullwings, she's lurking on street corners with a billboard around her neck saying '10 gil' >_>

Lulu loves belts. She really loves belts. I bet she has a closet full of belts, and I'm glad she kept her outfit in FFX-2 and didn't end up wearing nothing save for belts across her breasts and crotch. >_> *shudder* Goddamn. The character designer for FFX-2 should be taken out back and shot. Or was it Nomura as usual? Whoever it was is a sexist pervert who thinks women only exist to be sex objects or something. Ugh.

I don't like Kimahri. Kimahri is lame. I never use him.

Wakka is okay. Not much to say about Wakka really.

Auron is badass. That is all.

Did I cover everyone? Think so. I do like this game, but the sequel was TERRIBLE. It quite simply should never have been made. It was pathetic and not worthy of being a sequel to the great FFX. FFX-2 was a disgrace to FFX.

Brother crushing on Yuna? What the hell? -_- They are biological cousins for goodness sake... did the writers or whoever forget that Yuna's mom was Cid's sister?! Maybe they did it on purpose because they liked the idea of a shitty game with almost naked girls dancing around, an incestuous Al Bhed and a severe lack of plot. Yeesh.

EDIT: Looking at my last post about FFX, I apparently repeated myself a lot. Whatever. I don't care.

I wonder if I'm the only person who likes Final Fantasy X more than Final Fantasy VII? FFVII is quite overrated and everyone thinks it's the best Final Fantasy ever. Personally, I don't think it was ever deserving of a ton of sequels/prequels and a movie. Advent Children didn't really have much of a storyline either. FFVII was a great game, but that's all it was, and Sephiroth was lame. I mean, he wasn't even really the villain of the game. That was Jenova playing dumb games with everyone! (At least, that's what I understand. The storyline could be a bit confusing.) So why does everyone act like Sephiroth is the coolest character ever? Meh.

Final Fantasy X is fun. It really is more "fantasy" than FFVII is. The storyline is quite entertaining and it's a really fun game, especially when you can make your weakest attacker insanely powerful at the end of the game. (Lol, Yuna...)

Tidus's voice is annoying though. X_x He looks like Meg Ryan. XD Well, with her short, blonde hairstyle... the resemblance is uncanny.

Lulu is obsessed with belts. o_o Kimahri is lame. I never use him... and Auron is badass. I just wonder why he's going grey though. He's supposed to be 35 physically, but looks closer to fifty... Rikku is cool too.

Unfortunately, FFX got a sequel and... well, I think it's the worst Final Fantasy game I have ever had the pleasure of seeing in action. It's BAD. Crappy music, half-baked storylines, a normal ending that doesn't clear anything up... oh, and Yuna looks like a whore. Rikku also needs some frigging clothes. The two of them probably spend their spare time lurking on corners with 1 dollar signs around their necks. Paine seems like an uninteresting emo. Geez... it's just such a pathetic game. WTF, Square?
